Different Types of Solar Power System

We are blessed to have a free and sustainable renewable source of energy that is sun energy. A solar power plant harness the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity. There are three types of technologies concentrated, thermal and photovoltaic among which photovoltaic technology is the best for the conversion of sunlight into electricity.

There are three main types of the solar power system which are as follows:

1. On-Grid or Grid-tied Solar Power System

On-grid solar power systems are connected to the local utility grid and it is the most cost-effective type of plant as in on-grid you don’t need the most expensive part of the system that are the batteries. The surplus energy generated by the sun radiation on solar panels is fed to the utility grid through net metering. To promote green energy, both the central and state governments offer up to 30% subsidies for all households.

2. Off-Grid Solar Power System

An off-grid solar power system is ideal for remote locations or the areas with no electricity supply as it works independently. This type of system requires more space as compared to an on-grid system for battery storage. The excess power will be stored in batteries automatically which can be used at the times when there is power shortage. There is no need for electricity to operate the off grid system.

3. Hybrid Solar Power System

A hybrid system is the combination of the on-grid and off-grid solar systems. These systems are most advanced and flexible as they use batteries & hybrid inverters to store energy for later as well as they are connected to the local utility grid in the same way as a common on-grid solar system.

The electricity generated in the day time runs your home appliances and extra energy is stored in the solar batteries. Only after fully charging the batteries, the electricity will automatically be transferred to the utility grid.

Conclusion

All of the mentioned types of solar power systems works efficiently. Before picking any solar power system, the consumers need to keep in view their requirements. For any assistance or query, feel free to contact Vipa Solar through mail vipasolar@gmail.com or call at +91 9473545251.
